I turn and see a long way, behind
In the distance – a home
I look ahead and see
In the distance- the home
I have traveled
Years and miles
Yet not moved an inch
On the homebound aisle
I remember my fatigues
I cry over my joys
My solitudes, my sorrows
On the path of my choice
Did I have a choice at all?
I wonder as I look ahead
The path has kept me alive
I will arrive home-dead.
In the distance – a home
I look ahead and see
In the distance- the home
I have traveled
Years and miles
Yet not moved an inch
On the homebound aisle
I remember my fatigues
I cry over my joys
My solitudes, my sorrows
On the path of my choice
Did I have a choice at all?
I wonder as I look ahead
The path has kept me alive
I will arrive home-dead.
